The acclaimed collaborative partnership between Drake Music Scotland and Hebrides Ensemble led by cellist William Conway continues with a concert at The Queen’s Hall on Thursday 13th June 2024 with Making Waves. Third in the series that began with Diversions in 2019 followed by last year’s New Music Scotland Award-winning Echoes it features thrilling new works for digital and acoustic instruments from a dynamic line-up of disabled composers from across the UK, including Brit Awards ‘Future Sound of Britain’ composer Megan Steinberg, long-term Drake collaborator Ewan MacKay, and the energised music of Martin Gaughan alongside four emerging composers: Meg Kelly, Kat Stephenson, Harry Woodman and Edinburgh-based electronic artist Naafi.
The concert will feature many of the pioneering accessibility hallmarks for which Drake Music Scotland is renowned, including information about each piece from host Ben Lunn, captions, BSL interpretation and a sensory area.
